Fibromyalgia Testimonial

In April of 2002, Darlene, one of my patients and a retired nurse, wrote the following letter to her insurance company to address my revolutionary treatments,

Dear Sirs,
I understand there is some question of why Dr. Johnson is different from other chiropractors.  Let me share my experience. I have been dealing with overall pain and a worsening fatigue for several years.  One-and-a-half years ago I became chronically fatigued.  I rose in the morning hardly able to move.  I had to force myself to go to work.  By early afternoon, my headaches were unbearable.  I had to cut back on my work days.  By evening, I was totally spent.  Had to drop out of many activities.  It affected my marriage because I had nothing left for my husband.  He was doing most of the housework and a lot of meal preparation.  I was losing control of my life.  I had sought help for many years.

My allergist tried different treatments to help with the pain, fatigue, and headaches.  He took special blood tests for arthritis.  Tests for several years in a row checking my adrenal system.  Put me on special nutritional diets – eliminating certain foods.  Had me on a low-dose antibiotic to help control the pain.  He tried other medications, but everything continued to get worse, and I also went to my regular doctor with my complaints.  For a while he put me on one medication and then another.  Finally, he sent me to a specialist to thoroughly check out my adrenal system.  Found no problem.  I had blood tests for arthritis – came back negative.  He ordered an MRI of my brain – negative.  I had a bone density test – fine for my age.  Cholesterol is a little high but I brought it down with diet. Had an ultrasound to recheck an old cyst on my ovary – all well.

All in all, they found no apparent cause for all my pain, fatigue and severe headaches, and it becomes very discouraging when no doctors can help.  In the few minutes you get in their offices, it is hard to make them believe it's not all in your head.

I also had been going to another chiropractor for many years.  He helped some for short periods of time.  I had a chronic problem with my upper back and neck, especially a very painful trigger point on the top right shoulder between my neck and shoulder blade.  It would be so hard and painful that I would drop objects when lifting them.  This chiropractor worked on the knowledge of the muscles – it would help some temporarily, but it always came back.  This pain would spread to my head and set off severe headaches.

Since I've been under Dr. Johnson's care I have made much improvement.  My fatigue is mostly gone, and I'm sleeping sound again.  My energy level is way up.  My headaches are now very few and mild.  Also, the doctor and his therapist have gotten rid of that painful trigger point.  I'm totally rid of it. Dr. Johnson also taught me several things I can do at home to help with pain control.  I still have my fibromyalgia, but now I go through my days mostly pain-free.  My need to see Dr. Johnson is growing less and less.

Dr. Johnson has helped me regain my life and it was done without drugs.  All the other doctors failed to find my fibromyalgia or treat it.  People who are very sick and have exhausted their search with other doctors – come to Dr. Johnson and get help.  I'm so thankful I found Dr. Johnson.
